PASSING ON THE LEGACY

MANCAMP's humble beginnings

THE CODE: Seven Principles

  1. LEAD courageously by doing what is right.

  2. ENACT justice on behalf of others.

  3. ACCEPT responsibility for our words, decisions and actions.

  4. DELIVER our best in everything we do.

  5. EMBRACE and encourage others through friendship.

  6. RETURN good for evil.

  7. SERVE everyone with love that engenders respect.

GUIDING MAXIM:

"Lead, Provide, Protect,
 with Love that engenders Respect
 for God through Christ"
.

MANCAMP Experiential Goals:

  • Memorable. "You'll literally be talking about it for generations"

  • Transformative. "You'll see yourself and other men more as God intended"

  • Organic Generational Leadership. "You will be freed to Lead in every sphere of influence at home, work, play, everywhere, everyday"

  • Community building. "You'll  experience the secret essential tool of a leader's life and be able to organically teach others"  (This is the single most powerful element missing from Westernized manhood.)

  • Sons of greatness. "This next generation of Sons 14+ are at a critically transitional season of life and on the verge of greatness if Dad will lead them there." (After MANCAMP, you won't be alone.)

Leaders Legacy exists as an organic network to gather, encourage and equip men to join together in intentional commjunity building to lead the next generation to greatness. After years of encouraging fathers and sons through campouts, hikes and even rock climbing to talk about manhood, the first MANCAMP manifested itself with 18 men who gathered in real life in real time on a rugged patch of earth called my back yard for a two fisted man feast (fall off the bone, outdoor wood fired, pork ribs), manly activities (tomahawk throwing, tug of  war, obstacle course and others) and a friend bagpiper that would have made William Wallace proud.

These men gathered in the ancient tradition as a community of men that invests themselves in each other as apprentices with participation of the next generation of the same.  That night we welcomed one of our own apprentices into the fuller fellowship of the guild of biblical manhood.

AMERICAN MEN:

If we are reading this from a western, individualistic, materialistic culture where me, now, wow and political correctness rules, then it probably does not make sense to us why men for thousands of years that raised great men would intentionally seek true community with other men to raise men. Like swimming, one can only experience what it is like being submerged in water by getting into the pool.  We provide a rare opportunity whereby we can get submerged in community building to experience what God has always intended for his men and purposes for manhood.

This year's theme is Knighthood. Dads and Sons will gather in the spectacular mountains of Tallulah Gorge State Park, in the highlands region of North East Georgia, where majestic 1,000 foot river walls stand silent like an army watching waterfalls dance below.

There we will share our lives as a community guild to experience genuine manhood, hear messages of encouragement and make unforgettable memories together. Our bonding will conclude at a new annual local outdoor event where our group together will follow the footsteps of thousands who have gone before to navigate an extreme 3-mile obstacle course.

In doing so, may we be reminded to continue to follow the ancient tradition at home of men organically gathering together to raise sons of greatness who lead others through adversity in real life in real time."

This is not entertainment but a non-spectator, full participation experience where the degree to which we achieve the community goals and objectives is proportional to the degree that each of us diligently pursue them together.
